Rhamnus
Key Characteristics: Rhamnus cathartica forms a large shrub. The leaves are simple and pinnately veined. Leaf arrangement is unusual in that the leaves are alternate but are close to being opposite. This is an introduced weedy species that is too common on campus, at Picnic Point and at the arboretum.
