On August 25, 2006, about three months after my heart transplant, I got to see my old heart, preserved in formaldehyde. It has been dissected for study. At the bottom of the bag you can see a cross section my left and right ventricle, the lower chambers of the heart. Both are significantly enlarged, which was my major problem, along with arrhythmias.
