Notes on Searching: The search works best with keywords only. The search is not case sensitive. Image Name searches by the name of the image file. (ex. A search for "Robinia" would return "/images/130/Wood/Woody Stems/Vascular Cambium ts/Robinia detail MC.jpg") Directory Name searches by the name of the directory that the image file is in. (ex. A search for "Vascular Cambium" would return "/images/130/Wood/Woody Stems/Vascular Cambium ts/Robinia detail MC.jpg") Description searches by the description of the file. (ex. A search for "Native" will return a picture of Abies balsamea because its description contains the word "native") Warning: A search for a word found in more than half of the descriptions will be excluded. The contents of the search fields (Image Name, Directory Name, and Description) are combined with "and" so that the search results must match every field containing text. The Image Name and Directory Name fields are automatically "wildcarded" at the beginning and end of the search fields; therefore, the query will match any name containing the string of letters entered. For example, typing "garlic" will match both "garlic mustard" and "cultivated garlic". To avoid punctuation problems such as hyphens, apostrophes, spaces, etc., it is best to search on the simplest word. For example "lady" would match lady's slipper, ladyslipper, and lady's-slipper.
