 Pittosporum tobira- Australian Laurel (Pittosporaceae)

This tropical genus is distributed from the Canary Islands to Africa to Australia to Hawaii and provides one of the more compelling examples of the floristic link between the African and Australasian tropics. The bark and seeds are often resinous (pittos in Greek), hence the generic name means "resin seeds".
