 Nepenthes sp.-Asian Pitcher Plant (Nepenthaceae)

This genus is widespread from the Philippines to Sumatra, IndoMalaysia, north of Australia and even Madagascar. These carnivores are found in wet tropical forests. The pitchers on these Old World, tropical, carnivorous plants are actually modified leaf parts. Recent molecular phylogenetic results show it is unrelated to our New World pitcher plants (Sarraceniaceae), but is related to the carnivorous sundew (Droseraceae).
