Dracontium gigas- Aroid (Araceae) You will probably smell this plant before you can see it. The flowers, inside the large red-brown colored spathe, are pollinated by carrion flies. This genus occurs in the tropical Americas, and together with the genus Amorphophallus is a striking case of evolutionary convergence.
